Hi! I am Hannah, and I am a Computer Science major at Williams College set to graduate in December of 2023. I originally started off by doing research in HAII and HCI, but now, I am hoping to pivot towards software development because that is where my true passion lies.
Though I am pathing towards a career in software development, I have always had an interest in the arts. Therefore, I have always made efforts to combine my two passions, even if it is as little as putting a little bit of creativity or uniqueness to my code.
Interests
HCI/Deep Learning
Having done research in Deep Knowledge Tracing and Human-Computer/AI interaction, I have found myself interested in the field. Because it is such a black box, it was always interesing trying to fully understand the concept and figure out how to utilize them.
Computer Graphics
Growing up, whenever I would watch a show or movie or play games, I would always theorize how the creators went about creating the graphics and the animations. Thus, I took a computer graphics course and found it extremely interesting and wish to learn more about it.
Fishkeeping
I am extremely intrested in aquatic life and used to have a 20 gallon fishtank myself. Though I am not able to have one at the moment because I am constantly traveling back and forth from home to school, one of my dreams is to have a nice freshwater and a saltwater fishtank at my house that I can take care of as a hobby.
Workshop
I enjoy participating in a lot of hands-on activities. As a result, I worked at a science shop on campus where I had to work on projects that involved using machines like laser cutters, drill presses, and CNC machines. I also took a class on welding, and have experience using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Gaming
During quarantine, I tried gaming because I had never tried it before. It felt mentally stimulating and challenged my hand-eye coordination, which was not great growing up. I have always driven to improve my skills that I felt were lacking, and I feel that I have achieved that with gaming.
Drawing
Growing up, I prefered 3D art to 2D art. However, after I dove into art with more depth, I discovered that I had a talent for 2D art, specifically drawing and a main medium of colored pencils. Thus, I began to enjoy it a lot more, and I am always trying to incorporate art into my daily life.
